Our safeguarding teams regularly come together to ensure we maintain the highest possible standards of care, protection, and support for every child. This meeting reflects our commitment to a strong safeguarding culture, in line with current legislation and Ofsted expectations.
👶What Is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding means ensuring that all children:
- Are protected from harm, abuse, and neglect
- Grow up in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment
- Receive support for their emotional, social, and mental well-being
- Have their needs recognised, respected, and responded to appropriately
👥Who Are Our Safeguarding Team?
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
- ✅ All staff are trained in basic safeguarding, ensuring every team member understands how to recognise and respond to concerns
- ✅ We have staff trained to Level 3 Safeguarding, providing advanced knowledge and leadership
- ✅ Our setting includes Deputy Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) who support safeguarding practice day-to-day
- ✅ Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) take overall responsibility for safeguarding across the setting
Our safeguarding leads are responsible for:
- Leading safeguarding practice and maintaining high standards
- Supporting staff with concerns and decision-making
- Liaising with external agencies (e.g. social care, health professionals)
- Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed
- Keeping accurate, confidential records
Regular training ensures all staff remain confident, vigilant, and up to date.
